Dubai, UAE – September 2026: Barbados is set to become even more accessible to travellers from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) this winter, with increased air connectivity from the UK providing greater choice and flexibility for journeys to the Caribbean island.
From 25 October 2026, British Airways will introduce a new daily service between London Gatwick (LGW) and Barbados (BGI), complementing its existing service from London Heathrow and significantly increasing capacity between the UK and Barbados for the winter season.
The expanded London connectivity will be followed by the return of Virgin Atlantic’s seasonal direct service from Manchester (MAN) to Barbados from 26 October 2026 to 19 March 2027, offering an additional gateway for travellers connecting from the Gulf.
Together, the services strengthen Barbados’ accessibility from the GCC, where travellers can reach the island with one-stop connections via major international hubs including London, Manchester and New York as well as Toronto, Montreal and Frankfurt.
Stronger connections through airline partnerships
The growth in Barbados’ international airlift is further supported by partnerships between leading GCC and international carriers, providing additional options for travellers originating across the region.
For travellers from Qatar, the extensive partnership between Qatar Airways and British Airways provides convenient connectivity through London, connecting Doha with British Airways’ services onwards to Barbados.
Travellers from Saudi Arabia can similarly take advantage of the partnership between Saudia and Virgin Atlantic, with Saudia services connecting Riyadh and Jeddah with London Heathrow, where passengers can connect onwards to Virgin Atlantic’s direct Barbados service.
These partnerships make the destination increasingly accessible to GCC travellers while providing greater flexibility around departure points, travel dates and airline preferences.
